  • Joseph Councill

    Joseph Councill, MSN, APRN-NP, PMHNP-BC

    With more than 30 years of experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry—and over a decade teaching future nurses in Omaha—Joe has built a career grounded in compassion, education, and clinical excellence. After receiving his RN from Methodist College in 1998, he went on to earn an MSN in Nursing Education from Clarkson College in 2008, and later a Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate from UNMC in 2013.

    In his current practice Councill Psychiatric Care Specialists, Joe works with patients facing a wide range of mental health concerns, from mild mood symptoms to schizophrenia. His practice is rooted in treating the whole person, honoring the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of well-being. He views care as a collaborative partnership and incorporates research-informed assessment tools to help clarify diagnosis and measure progress. Joe coordinates with other providers to ensure medication plans are streamlined and thoughtfully tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences.

  • Darrel Moreland

    Darrel Moreland, MSN, APRN-NP, PMHPNP-BC, ADHD-CSSP

    Darrel is the founder of Spectrum Mental Wellness, where he leads a growing team dedicated to neuroscience-informed, evidence-based psychiatric care. His clinical work focuses on mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, and integrative psychopharmacology, with an emphasis on clear assessment, personalized treatment planning, and collaborative care.

    Darrel received his BSN from Clarkson College in 2017 and MSN from University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Nursing in 2020. Darrel’s professional background spans inpatient psychiatry, corrections, community mental health, and academic teaching at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is committed to integrating emerging research, structured therapy tools, and refined communication practices into his work with individuals and families.

    Darrel is dedicated to providing thoughtful, reliable, and effective mental-health services grounded in both clinical expertise and a strong commitment to professional integrity.

  • Paul Greenwell

    Paul Greenwell, MS, LIMHP

    For 20 years, Paul has supported individuals navigating depression, anxiety, chronic mental illness, trauma-related conditions, and significant life stressors.

    He is trained in multiple evidence-based modalities — including EMDR (Levels I & II), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — working side-by-side with clients to tailor treatment to each person’s unique needs and goals.

    Grounded, thoughtful, and intentional, Paul approaches his work with respect, curiosity, and a commitment to helping people heal at a pace that feels right for them. Whether you’re navigating trauma, transitions, or ongoing mental health challenges, he offers steady, individualized support informed by decades of experience.

  • RoxAnne Koenig

    RoxAnne Koenig, MS, LIMHP

    RoxAnne brings more than 25 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and life transitions. 

    Her therapeutic lens is rooted in training in Adlerian Psychotherapy (certified 1993), complemented by specialized expertise in trauma-informed modalities including EMDR (Levels I & II) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). 

    RoxAnne approaches therapy with compassion, warmth, and a touch of humor. She believes every person has the capacity to improve their life now — and she’s honored to walk alongside clients as they take those next steps forward. She offers individualized care tailored to each person’s unique history and needs, using a variety of evidence-based strategies and a flexible, client-centered approach. 

  • Lisa Heitman

    Lisa Heitman, BS

    Lisa earned her Associate of Science degree from Iowa Western Community College in 2017 and later obtained her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 2019. Since 2018, she has gained professional experience working with and monitoring patients experiencing mental health crises.

    Lisa helps ensure that patients are welcomed with compassion, their questions are addressed, and appointments are scheduled efficiently for follow-up care.

    Lisa believes strongly in the importance of kindness and active listening. She understands that each patient may be facing unique challenges and strives to create a supportive and positive experience for everyone who walks through the door.

  • Joanne Councill

    Joanne Councill, BS

    Joanne Councill is an Omaha native and graduate of Gross Catholic High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Resources and Family Sciences from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

    Before joining the practice, Joanne spent more than a decade working in the financial services industry, where she developed strong experience in client relations, operations, and organizational management. She is seasoned in clinical practice management and billing support.

    Joanne lives in the Omaha area with her husband, Joe, and their three children. She enjoys supporting the growth of a practice dedicated to improving mental health care in the community.
